Aerospace Composite Fabrication Services

Mace Aviation operates dedicated composite fabrication facilities in Mesa, Arizona. We produce structural aerospace components for defense contractors, helicopter OEMs, and advanced development programs. Our climate-controlled composite shop handles every step from prepreg ply kitting through oven cure and final assembly.

What We Fabricate

Our composite manufacturing capability covers the full range of structural aerospace applications. We build fuselage skins, control surfaces, fairings, structural panels, weapon system housings, sensor pods, and complex multi-piece assemblies. If it flies and it is composite, we build it.

Our Composite Manufacturing Process

  • Climate-controlled ply kitting and layup facility with temperature and humidity managed to material specification
  • Wet layup, prepreg, and vacuum infusion processes
  • Oven cure with parts processed to customer-specified cure cycles
  • Post-cure machining, trimming, and assembly
  • In-process inspection and dimensional verification
  • Assembly integration with metallic components, inserts, and fastener systems

Materials & Specifications

  • Carbon fiber and epoxy prepreg in standard and high-temperature systems
  • Fiberglass, Kevlar, and hybrid laminates
  • Honeycomb core and foam core sandwich structures
  • Resin transfer molding (RTM) and vacuum-assisted RTM
  • Parts fabricated to customer drawings, 3D model definition, or Mace-generated engineering packages

Why Defense Contractors Choose Mace Aviation

  • Vertically integrated: design, analysis, tooling, fabrication, assembly and avionics integration under one roof
  • Rapid prototyping capability with first articles in days, not months
  • Principal-level engineering involvement on every program
  • Arizona-based CONUS supplier with no overseas supply chain risk
  • Currently pursuing ISO 9001 certification

Defense & Advanced Development Programs

Mace Aviation’s composite fabrication work spans some of the most demanding programs in aerospace and defense. Our client list includes MD Helicopters, L3Harris, Lockheed Skunk Works, Stratolaunch, and Scaled Composites. Our shop is built for programs that cannot afford schedule failures or material nonconformances.

We work with program managers who need a fabricator that can move from engineering definition to first article quickly. Structural integrity and dimensional accuracy are never traded for speed.

Additional Capabilities From Mace Aviation

Most composite airframe programs include metallic content. Aerospace Metallic Structures covers the brackets, fittings, and substructure fabricated in the same facility alongside composite work. We also design and build the Composite and Metallic Tooling the parts are laid up on, and our Rapid Prototyping capability uses these same composite fabrication processes to deliver structural first-article hardware in days or weeks.
