Mace Aviation provides full-spectrum aerospace design and engineering services. We take programs from initial concept layout through detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, CFD analysis, and numerical control definition. We work in CATIA V5 and SolidWorks. Our engineers have designed structures that have flown on some of the most demanding programs in aerospace and defense.
Mace Aviation’s design and engineering team does not produce drawings that get handed off to an unrelated fabrication shop. We produce drawings that get handed off to our own fabrication team, in the same building. When a design has a manufacturing issue, we find it before first article, not after. The engineer who designed it, analyzed it, and drew it is available to the fabricator who builds it. That is the core value of working with Mace Aviation.

Our design and engineering work spans some of the most demanding programs in aerospace. Ryan Mace’s direct engineering involvement with Lockheed Skunk Works, Stratolaunch, Scaled Composites, NAVAIR, and L3Harris means Mace Aviation’s engineering staff has designed structures to the standards demanded by the most credentialed programs in the industry.
Design and engineering programs often move directly into Structural Analysis & FEA for structural sizing and load validation on the components we design. For programs where we produce the drawings and build the parts, Aerospace Composite Fabrication and Aerospace Metallic Structures are fabricated in the same facility by the same engineering team.
We use CATIA V5 and SolidWorks for 3D design, assembly modeling, and engineering drawing production. For structural analysis, we use Hypermesh, FEMAP, and NASTRAN. All are industry-standard tools recognized by defense primes and government program offices.
Yes. We routinely import customer-supplied CATIA, SolidWorks, STEP, and IGES models and work from that baseline to produce modified designs, retrofit packages, or new components that interface with existing structure.
Yes. We perform computational fluid dynamics analysis for aerodynamic performance prediction, including high-lift analysis, drag prediction, payload interference effects, store separation, and stability and control derivative development.
Cutting edge rapid prototyping, design, engineering and production. Mace Aviation has been our go to for the last 19 years.
