Cessna Caravan Weapon Pylons
Mace Aviation designed weapon pylons for the Cessna Caravan, built to be adaptable enough to also carry sensor payloads, part of a broader family of mission equipment solutions Mace has developed for the platform.
The Challenge
Caravan operators needed a way to mount mission equipment, from surveillance sensors to weapon systems, onto an airframe that wasn’t originally designed to carry either, without compromising the aircraft’s handling or requiring extensive structural rework.
What Mace Built
The Caravan Weapon Pylons mount to the aircraft and accept adapters that let the same hardware carry sensor payloads, giving operators flexibility between mission types without swapping out the entire mounting system. They’re part of a wider set of Caravan solutions Mace has developed, including side mounted and belly mounted sensor pods, so operators can choose the mounting location and configuration that fits their mission.
The Outcome
Caravan aircraft equipped with Mace built sensor and pylon systems have been shown publicly, including a UAE military Caravan displayed with its sensor and weapon bay open at an airshow.
